How Are Applications Assessed?
Preliminary Review and Board Decision

Applications first undergo a preliminary review for completeness, programme eligibility and budget. Applications considered suitable are submitted to the Board of Trustees for a support decision.

  1. The development and benefit the activity will provide to students.
  2. The feasibility and sustainability of the project.
  3. The number of participants and expected impact.
  4. The contribution of the school’s or group’s own resources to the project budget.
  5. The realism and verifiability of the requested budget.
  6. The resources the Foundation can allocate for the relevant period.

Additional documents, explanations, budget revisions or an interview may be requested where necessary.

Response Times May Vary by Application

The assessment timeline may vary depending on how quickly the file is completed, the date of the Board meeting and the need for additional information.

Implementation, Payment and Reapplication
How Is Support Provided?

Financial payments are made to the bank account of the relevant school, institution or service provider under the conditions stated in the Board decision. Where necessary, payment may be made directly to the organisation issuing the invoice.

In-kind support may be provided through the direct provision of equipment, tools, licences, expertise, rental or similar services.

Where the resources of the school or student group remain insufficient, a new application may be submitted in later periods for the same or an ongoing project. Previous support does not create an automatic entitlement for a new period.

Final Report and Project Responsibility
Requirements After Support
  1. Use for the Approved Purpose
Support must be used only for the approved project and expenses.
  2. Notification of Changes
Significant changes to the timeline, budget or scope of the activity must be reported to the Foundation.
  3. Final Report
A brief final and expenditure report must be submitted after completion of the activity.
  4. Implementation Responsibility
The applicant institution and its authorised representatives are responsible for implementing the project safely, lawfully and properly.
Support Must Be Returned If the Project Does Not Take Place

If the supported activity cannot be carried out or the funds are used outside the approved purpose, the Foundation may request the return of unused or misused amounts.

Support from the Yücel Cultural Foundation does not mean that it is the organiser or implementer of the project. Operational, legal and safety responsibility rests with the applicant school, institution and authorised representatives.
