At Yücel Cultural Foundation, we value hosting productions that bring Istanbul’s thousands of years of cultural heritage together with contemporary performing arts. With this approach, we invite audiences to experience a remarkable production combining history, mythology, technology, and aerial acrobatics.
“Echoes of Istanbul: Istanbul Legends Suspended in the Air” offers a theatrical stage experience that brings the city’s mystical stories back to life in the air.
Created through the choreography of internationally renowned Cirque du Soleil artist Emir Buhari, the performance brings together epic melodies, spectacular aerial acrobatics, and advanced stage technologies within a single narrative.
Featuring sweeping swings, spiral flights, and figures gliding through the air, the production combines live acrobatics with Ghost Screen technology in seamless harmony. As the boundary between reality and illusion begins to disappear, the audience is taken on a visual journey through Istanbul’s past.
From the Galata Tower and the wings of Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi to the dark waters of the Bosphorus and Medusa’s mysterious Basilica Cistern, Istanbul’s legends are brought to life through movement, music, and digital worlds.
Staged at Yücel Arts Center, located just opposite Hagia Sophia, “Echoes of Istanbul” is more than an aerial acrobatics show. It is a multi-layered experience that reconstructs the memory of Istanbul through movement, light, and the air above the stage.
