At Yücel Cultural Foundation, we value hosting distinctive experiences that bring Istanbul’s thousands of years of cultural heritage together with contemporary performing arts. With this approach, we invite our audience to a special performance where music, movement, technology, and the legends of Istanbul share the same stage.
“Candle & Ghost: Illusion & Acrobatics Symphony” is a 60-minute uninterrupted stage experience that reimagines stories inspired by Istanbul’s past through live music, aerial acrobatics, and holographic illusions.
In an atmosphere illuminated by candlelight, live qanun and violin performances fill the stage while aerial acrobatics and holographic Ghost Screen projections blend seamlessly with the music. The audience is invited into more than a concert or an acrobatics show — it is a theatrical journey shaped by sound, movement, light, and illusion.
Throughout the performance, scenes inspired by different periods and legends of Istanbul come to life. The Curse of Medusa emerges from the depths of the Basilica Cistern; Hürrem Sultan’s story unfolds within Topkapi Palace and the Harem; the architectural world of Mimar Sinan and the Süleymaniye Mosque rises above the stage; and the mystical atmosphere of Hagia Sophia and the Byzantine era leads the audience toward the finale.
“Candle & Ghost” reinterprets Istanbul’s cultural memory through music, light, movement, and illusion, offering a multi-layered experience that goes beyond a conventional stage performance.
Special participation fee for Culture Hunters: 50 TL
The standard ticket price for the event is 800 TL. As part of the Culture Hunters program, the remaining cost is covered by Yücel Cultural Foundation.
