Unemployed but Not Powerless: Self-Awareness and Personal Insight – Session 1
How about taking a short break from your job search and focusing on yourself?

As part of the Yücel Cultural Foundation – Youth Space Program: Take Action initiative, Shining Young Souls is a project designed to support the psychosocial development of university graduates during their job search process. We invite you to the first session of this project.

We come together to get to know yourself better, discover your inner potential and build a solid roadmap for your future. Through ice-breaking activities, psychology-based warm-up games and self-awareness exercises, we aim to create a safe, supportive and empowering space.

Shining Young Souls is a gathering that supports psychosocial resilience in response to the stress, uncertainty and motivation fluctuations experienced during the job search process. With a focus on self-discovery, empowerment and taking action, it helps participants recognize their inner resources and build a clearer personal roadmap.

🧠 Guest: Psychological Counselor Sümeyye Semerci

She graduated with high honors from the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Istanbul University. After graduation, she focused on child and family work and began working as a psychological counselor in preschool institutions.

During this period, she completed training in Child-Centered Play Therapy and APT-approved Experiential Play Therapy, and in the adult field she adopted the dynamic approach and received training in Dynamic Psychotherapy. She is currently continuing her Psychodrama Training at the Istanbul Psychodrama Institute (IPI).

In addition to her professional work, she has participated in volunteer projects in cooperation with various associations and organizations, including support programs for migrants and psychological assistance for individuals affected by earthquakes. Between 2024 and 2025, she worked in Austria on the “Children’s Village Project,” supporting children in foster care systems. She currently continues her work with adults and children both face-to-face and online in Ataşehir.

🎯 By the End of the Session, Participants Will

  • Have the opportunity to better understand themselves and identify their needs during the job search process.
  • Strengthen their inner resources through practices that support psychosocial resilience.
  • Gain small but effective tools for coping with uncertainty and stress.
  • Develop a clearer sense of direction for their future through increased self-awareness.
  • Experience a supportive community by connecting with others going through similar processes.
